World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be inserted. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using less upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Utilizing a Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that the item could be more expensive even if you don't require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can waste many resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its initial state which means that the player has to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload). However, item upgrades Cases gg can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses listed above.
